Welcome to Osa Mountain Village
A Sustainable Resort Community
Development of any kind cannot claim to be ecologically conscious if there is no thought to how water is handled. The water systems at Osa Mountain Village are being designed to not only harvest clean pure mountain water, but also recyle it through a treatment system using both biological and technological systems that will allow the waste water to be filtered and used again. There is no reason for the natural water systems
to be destroyed or depleted. We believe it is not only possible for humans to live in harmony with the planet, but that it is our obligation. . .
Those who know how important it is believe that effort should be made to assure ourselves of a lasting Mother Earth. During our everyday lives, we are forced to distance ourselves from the reality of our future. It is not set in stone, nor will it come to us naturally.
We will force our hand and assure a generation of individuals who desire to take first position and do what it takes to make certain that our children and our children's children have a clean and pure environment in which to live. And, just as important, the mindset to be able to handle the challenges of the required effort to become sustainable. .
Live a Life of Abundance on
$500.00 per Month
Thousands of fruit trees, humane animal husbandry, gardens and fish ponds are currently being integrated at the village. Imagine catching your own fish in one of the talapia ponds, then strolling through the gardens for some rosemary, and then maybe grabbing some platanos (plantain bananas) to bring to dinner. Food production is part of the infrastructure of the village and is as important as electricity or any aspect of construction. . .
How is it possible?
It is a pretty simple concept. . .with
each unit paying $150/month
(not per person) into the community kitty and labor costing us under $500/month per full-time person, we will have over $20,000 per month going towards food production and common-area maintenance. This food belongs to the members of the community. Our goal is to produce
50% to 80% of our food
onsite, which will reduce your
monthly food costs considerably.
We have already planted over 2,000 fruit trees, including 5 kinds of oranges. We've planted almonds to bring in the
Scarlet Macaws. Other tree plantings are being scheduled right now as well!
We are using a verticle system for growing our veggies, herbs and spices. The system allows us to grow vast quantities of veggies in a
relatively small area.
What about Entertainment?
The biggest cost besides food is entertainment. Our community will have a full-time concierge/event coordinator who will constantly be planning for the next Texas Hold-em tourney, along with pool activities and BBQ parties. She will also plan
beach trips, shopping trips and excursions.
There will never be shortage of things to do at Osa Mountain Village.

Our Mission at Osa Mountain Village
Osa Mountain Village announces commencement of construction on Phase I of its unique community concept. The community is located in Costa Rica’s Southern Zone along the pristine Pacific Coast, where the mountains meet the ocean. It is about 20 minutes from Palmar Norte and 40 minutes from Dominical and overlooks the Pacific Ocean at a temperate 2,000 feet elevation level. The area boasts magnificent ocean
sunset views, ideal climate, an abundance of wildlife and a wealth of adventure activities.
This 700+ acre development will use less than 3% of the land for development of villas, infrastructure and food production. The other 97% will be used as a nature preserve and jungle playground. Osa Mountain Village has a goal of producing 80% of the food consumed by its guests and residents. Thousands of
fruit trees have already been planted and the future will bring vegetables, herbs, chicken and tilapia.
Freshly-caught seafood will also be available to guests and residents at a significant discount with the
recent addition of a charter fishing boat.
The development will consist of 150 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom villas, restaurant, community center, a large grass field for games, ranchos, barbecue areas, gym and other amenities.
An 11-line, 15-platform canopy tour, canyoning adventure (rappelling through waterfalls) and
Tarzan Swing are already open.
The villas range from 867-1,500 square feet and include eco-friendly construction, granite or bamboo countertops and patios with the customary Costa Rican hammock. Fractional units come fully furnished with everything needed to start renting or enjoying immediately.
“I am so excited the construction phase has begun,” says Jim Gale, President. “People have been enjoying the canopy tour since it opened in May and, while at the property, they ask about our community. The response has been overwhelming! With our own food production, fun things to do on-site and quick access to other areas, we envision our residents being able to live comfortably for about $500 per month.” A former mortgage broker, Mr. Gale’s paradigm changed with the birth of his first daughter, Amelia. It was then that he started questioning the way communities exist and how they relate to the world as a whole. His idea became "Osa Mountain Village", a community of abundance, fun, security and learning.

Living Well on $500 per Month

Slow Down and Smell the Roses. . .
A old wooden boat docked in a tiny Costa Rican fishing village just south of Dominical. A well-to-do tourist complimented the weary group of local fishermen on the quality of their fish and asked
how long it took him to catch them. . .
"Not very long." they answered in unison.
"Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?"
The fishermen explained that their small catches were sufficient to meet their needs and
those of their families.
"But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"We sleep late, fish a little, play with our children, and take siestas with our wives. In the evenings, we go into the village to see our friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs.
We have an incredibly full and happy life."
The tourist interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard
and I can help you!
You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."
"And after that," asked the fishermen?
"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City!
From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."
"How long would that take?"
"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the tourist.
"And after that?"
"Afterwards? Well my friend, that's when it gets really interesting," answered the tourist laughing uncontrollably. "When your business gets really big, you can start buying and
selling stocks and make millions!"
"Millions? Really? And after that," asked the fishermen?
"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife
and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."
"With all due respect, Sir, that's exactly what we are doing now. So what's the point wasting the
next 25 years," asked the Costa Rican fishermen?
